This is a review of my new RadMini Step-Thru electric folding bike, which has got me cycling again! I used to ride a regular bike quite a bit, but then three years ago we moved to a hilly neighborhood. For a senior, that took the joy out of cycling and turned it into misery, so I gave up.

Then, I went online and ordered an ebike from Rad Power Bikes in Canada. My RadMini arrived with a little minor cosmetic freight damage. The Rad people were good with customer service and getting the freight damage repaired quickly by a local bike shop; I give them 5 stars for that. I have about 50 km on my RadMini, and so far so good. I think it’s good value for the price and everything works well.
I looked at similarly priced bikes and I thought they were not great, and you have to worry about those cheap batteries. The Rad battery is made by Samsung and seems top of the line. I also looked at a bike that was more than 50% more money, but I couldn’t see why.

I’m not an everyday serious cyclist, but I do ride my ebike often, so I wanted something reliable. I like to do basic shopping, errands, and touring round on my ebike, and leave the gas-guzzling car at home.
The RadMini Step-Thru seems very well designed and well built; everything works smoothly. The 500-watt motor seems more than adequate and does the job just fine.
Not so long ago, I had pretty much quit cycling. Then I got my Rad! An ebike is the answer, it has got me biking again. My Rad has put the joy back in biking!
Note: The one little thing about my RadMini that needs addressing is the key sticks out to far on the side and you can hit it with your leg when pedaling. The plastic bit on the key sticks out 1.25 inches (3.2 cm) A stubbier key would fix it.
