Function: Bafang PAS sensor SR PA121.32.S is installed instead of the bottom bracket. There, the pedal activity is passed on to the controller at 32 pulses per revolution and thus defines the motor support. The advantage of this technology compared to speed sensors, which also count wheel turns when you push, is that the sensor only registers wheel turns when you actually pedal.
Physical properties: the operating temperature of the sensor ranges from -20 to 45 °C. The sensor weighs 312g and is tested according to the highest industry standards, according to which no dust or moisture may penetrate, and have the IP X5 standard. It has an axle length of 119 mm and is designed for 68 mm bottom bracket width.
Assembly: You will need to remove your bottom bracket to install. The sensor is screwed on and then with approx. 30 Nm. For this you can use the Bafang engine mounting tool for BBS01 / BBS02 / BBSHD. The cable is located in the centre of the sensor, so a hole is required in the middle of the bottom bracket housing. With a cable length of 0.5 metres, you have enough room to connect the sensor.
Box contents: two rubber seals and matching crank screws for the right and left side are included. In addition, a seal for the cable routing on the bottom bracket housing is included to protect against water and dust.
